Philadelphia Rapper Derrick Gant aka Phat Geez killed in Brewerytown shooting
According to police, a suspect has yet to be identified.
Authorities are currently probing a shooting incident that resulted in the death of a well-known Philadelphia rapper in Brewerytown.
Law enforcement personnel were dispatched to a call regarding an individual with a firearm around 10:10 p.m. on Sunday in the 1200 block of N. Taney Street.
Upon arrival, officers discovered a man who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds lying on the street.
He was promptly transported to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries shortly thereafter.
The victim has been identified as Derrick Gant, also recognized by his stage name, Phat Geez.
Philadelphia native Meek Mill voiced his thoughts on the shooting incident via social media.
According to police, a suspect has yet to be identified.
Authorities are urging anyone with information regarding the shooting to contact the police.
