False report of shooting at North East Carolina Prep School in Tarboro
There is no threat at this time.
Earlier today, around 1:10 PM, the Edgecombe County 911 dispatch center received a report of a shooting incident at NECP.
At the time of the call, both the PK & 1-7 building and the high school building were in the midst of lunchtime activities, with students either on the playground or in the cafeteria.
Fortunately, law enforcement quickly arrived on campus after being notified.
School promptly initiated our lockdown procedures, and the law enforcement officers diligently searched all three buildings, ultimately finding no indication of any problems.
