The name of the woman who tragically lost her life at an unauthorized rave over the weekend has been disclosed.

Desirae Rivera, 21, was the individual killed in the fatal shooting that took place around 4 a.m. on Saturday.

The Bexar County Sheriff’s Department responded swiftly to a facility on the 8000 block of Old Pearsall Road following reports of gunfire at a sizable gathering.

Upon reaching the scene, deputies found the venue, reportedly being used without permission, hosting what witnesses described as a rave-style gathering.

The shooting led to Rivera’s untimely death and injured a 29-year-old man.

During a subsequent press conference on Saturday, Sheriff Javier Salazar suggested that the fatal altercation likely stemmed from a dispute between various groups attending the event.

The specifics of the incident remain uncertain, yet Sheriff Salazar disclosed that witnesses observed several individuals surrounding Rivera, recording the event.

Detectives are actively pursuing these recordings and encourage witnesses to come forward.

Authorities are now reaching out to the public for help, urging anyone with information to reach out to the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office at 210-336-6000 or email bcsotips@bexar.org.
