13-year-old killed after shooting on Macks Street in Mobile

Update: The Mobile Police Department has detained a man in relation to the shooting incident that claimed the life of a 13-year-old on Wednesday night on Macks Street.

Terry Lamar Penn, 18, has been apprehended and incarcerated, facing charges of manslaughter.

As per a spokesperson from the MPD, Penn is reported to be the victim’s cousin.

According to the Mobile Police Department, on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, at approximately 11:42 p.m., officers responded to reports of a shooting on Macks Street.

Upon arrival, they discovered a 13-year-old victim in the front yard with a gunshot wound.

The victim was rushed to the hospital but unfortunately succumbed to their injuries.

This incident is currently under active homicide investigation, and further details will not be disclosed at this time to preserve the integrity of the ongoing inquiry.
