24-year-old Devonte Jamaal Stephenson killed after shooting on North Greene Street in downtown Greensboro

GREENSBORO, NC (February 25, 2024) – On Sunday, February 25, at approximately 2:07 a.m., Greensboro Police, Greensboro Fire and Guilford County EMS responded to a report of a shooting in the 100 block of North Greene Street.

Two gunshot victims were located and transported to a local hospital.

Devonte Jamaal Stephenson, 24, was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Next of kin has been notified.

A second gunshot victim remains in critical condition.

This is the city’s seventh homicide of 2024. Detectives and Forensic Investigators responded and are working together to conduct the investigation.
