The body of 11-year-old Audrii Cunningham, who was reported missing from Livingston and the subject of an AMBER Alert, was discovered in the Trinity River on Tuesday, as per sources from Channel3 NOW and a family acquaintance.

Polk County Sheriff Byron Lyons confirmed during a news conference on Tuesday that investigators located Audrii’s remains at the Trinity River Boat Ramp along U.S. 59 after reducing water levels.

Consequently, the AMBER Alert has been officially terminated. Audrii’s body will be transported to the Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office for further examination to ascertain the circumstances surrounding her death.

A representative from the Texas Department of Public Safety mentioned that this matter has transitioned into a criminal investigation.

Numerous emergency vehicles, including personnel from Liberty County, the Texas Department of Public Safety, Texas EquuSearch, and a dive team from the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, were present at the scene on Tuesday morning.

Warning tape was cordoned off around the vicinity, and media personnel were kept at a distance from the site.

Lyons mentioned that they managed to locate Audrii’s remains with the aid of a significant volume of evidence, including cellphone footage from witnesses, various significant locations pointed out by a person of interest, and surveillance recordings.

He stated that investigators also utilized data obtained from cellphone analysis and details provided by 42-year-old Don Steven McDougal.
