According to an affidavit for a search warrant, the woman who allegedly opened fire inside Lakewood Church in Houston has been identified as Genesse Ivonne Moreno.

The woman was fatally shot, and two others, including a young child, were injured during the incident on Sunday.

Police report that a woman, armed with a long rifle and accompanied by a seven-year-old child, entered the building shortly before 2 p.m. and opened fire at some point.

Two off-duty law enforcement officers confronted the woman and discharged their firearms, resulting in her being shot, according to police.

The child accompanying the woman sustained gunshot wounds and was transported to Texas Children’s Hospital in critical condition.

Additionally, a 57-year-old man was shot in the leg and is reported to be in stable condition.

Police also reported that the woman claimed to possess a bomb, although no explosives were discovered.

Additionally, she allegedly dispersed some form of substance on the ground. HAZMAT crews and decontamination units were summoned to the scene, but they found nothing of concern to the community or the location.

Earlier in the week, Montgomery County deputies, the FBI, and other agencies executed a search warrant at a residence connected to Moreno located at 9770 Gulfstream, Conroe, TX 77303.

The warrant authorized officials to search the two-story home, an attached garage, and a dark-colored sedan belonging to Moreno.

According to authorities, evidence potentially related to the shooting was likely discovered at her residence or in her vehicle. However, no details have been provided regarding the items found in her home.
