Two teenagers lost their lives in what authorities described as a “seemingly targeted shooting” on Thursday evening outside a middle school in Nashville.

The victims were identified by police as Takeo Bills, 16, from Chapel Hill, and Jalen McAdams, 17, from Franklin.

Rico Doss, 18, has been arrested and charged with two counts of criminal homicide in connection with the shooting.

Police stated on Friday afternoon that the teenagers who were shot arrived by car at Meigs Magnet School, where no activities were taking place.

The shooting occurred at 7 p.m. According to the investigation thus far, Bills and McAdams arrived together at the school parking lot in a white Nissan Altima at 6:50 p.m.

Investigators reported that a black Honda Accord with Doss and another individual was already present in the parking lot.

After the Altima parked next to the Honda, Doss and the other individual purportedly entered the back seat of the Altima.

Authorities stated that at that moment, two victims were shot.

Doss and the other individual exited the Altima and swiftly departed in the Honda.

McAdams succumbed to his injuries at the scene, while Bills passed away shortly after being transported to the hospital.
