School Lockdown

A number of different law enforcement organizations are reacting to reports of shooting incident at Highlands High School in San Antonio, Texas.

SAISD authorities stated on Thursday morning that Highlands High School is currently under lockout status.

While the high school was initially placed on lockdown earlier in the day, officials from SAISD explained that school officers have transitioned it to a lockout.

During a lockout, all students and staff stay safely indoors, and regular school activities continue, but no one is permitted to enter the building unless authorized by the principal.

There is no information available regarding the circumstances that prompted the lockdown and subsequent lockout.

According to someone, their sister is present at the location. There has been a shooting reported in the parking lot, leading to schools being locked down, preventing children from leaving.

Police ask public to please stay out of the area.

This is a developing story that will be updated when more information is available.
