19-year-old Jayden Lamont Morris killed in shooting on Rivermet Avenue in Fort Wayne

The individual killed in a shooting on Rivermet Avenue in Fort Wayne on Saturday has been identified as Jayden Lamont Morris, a 19-year-old.

Morris succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds, and the manner of his death has been officially ruled a homicide, according to Allen County Deputy Coroner Rebecca Mayes.

This marks the sixth homicide in the county and the fifth involving a teenager since the beginning of the year.

Two additional individuals sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to a local hospital.

The incident is currently under investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department, the Allen County Prosecutor’s Office, and the Allen County Coroner’s Office.
