All-clear given after reports of active shooter at UT Southern in Pulaski

Several law enforcement agencies are conducting an investigation.

(Pulaski, Tennessee) – Update: A witness on the scene reports, “The situation has now resolved, and law enforcement is departing. I can observe students huddled together and visibly upset. Police presence is diminishing, and traffic is returning to its usual flow. There was a significant number of students leaving, presumably with parents picking them up. The all-clear has been given, and students are being released from lockdown.

UT Southern learned of a potential threat in the area this afternoon and immediately went into a shelter in place order. State and local authorities responded to sweep the campus. Authorities have issued an all clear. All classes have been cancelled for the remainder of the day.

In response to a phone tip regarding an incident at UT Southern, the Pulaski Police Department, Giles County Sheriff’s Office, and THP are actively involved.

Authorities are currently engaged in the process of investigating and clearing the campus. As of now, authorities affirm that everything is normal.

As of now, there are no verified reports of shooting victims.

UT Southern remains on lockdown, with students directed to stay in their current locations and shelter in place.
