On Monday morning, Kingwood High School was put under lockdown as authorities looked into the possibility of a student bringing a weapon onto the campus.

Principal Michael Nasra conveyed this information to parents in a message.

According to Jodi Silva, an information officer with the Houston Police Department, a call was received at 10:15 a.m. reporting a fight between two students, during which one threatened to shoot the other.

Both HPD and Humble ISD police located the students but did not discover any weapons.

It was confirmed by Silva that the information circulating in Humble ISD parent groups about weapons being found was inaccurate.

Parents will be informed of any further details if they become accessible.
