Update: A second individual has been apprehended in relation to the shooting deaths of two teenagers last week.

Records from the Sedgwick County Jail reveal that 18-year-old Hayden Williams was booked on Monday evening, facing two charges of first-degree murder.

This arrest marks a significant advancement in the ongoing investigation into the tragic double homicide, as stated by Lt. Aaron Moses of the Wichita Police Department. “The investigation is currently in an extremely active phase, with homicide investigators diligently pursuing additional leads and information to identify and apprehend any other individuals involved in the shooting incident,” he added.

Earlier, on Saturday, Wichita police had announced the arrest of a 14-year-old suspect on two counts of felony murder and charges related to juvenile possession of a firearm.

The Sedgwick County dispatch has confirmed the occurrence of a shooting early Saturday morning in east Wichita, resulting in the death of two individuals.

Wichita police were prompted to respond to the area of Old Manor and Kensington following a “shots fired” call just past midnight.

The victims, described by the police as an ‘older teenager’ and a ‘younger teenager,’ were later identified as Emoni Shears and Quez.

Despite being rushed to Ascension Via Christi St. Joseph Hospital for treatment, both teenagers succumbed to their injuries.

Sgt. Paul Kimble expressed the belief that this was a targeted shooting and not a random incident.

The investigation is currently ongoing, and anyone with information is urged to contact investigators at 316-267-2111.
