45-year-old Ryan Andrews died from an apparent gunshot wound in Fort Dodge

The Fort Dodge Police Department has identified the individual who succumbed to an apparent gunshot wound on Friday.

At approximately 5:16 a.m., Fort Dodge Police were dispatched to the 1600 block of 14th Ave. SW following a report of a shooting.

Upon arriving at the scene, first responders discovered 45-year-old Ryan R. Andrews with an apparent gunshot wound in a yard.

Andrews was subsequently transported by medics to a nearby hospital, where he later passed away due to his injuries.

The police department has not disclosed details regarding the circumstances leading to the shooting. Detectives are actively conducting an ongoing investigation.
