Suspect killed in an officer-involved shooting in Elizabethtown

Update: An individual suspected of rape has reportedly died following a shootout with the police in Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania. The vehicle belonging to the victim, which was purportedly being driven by the suspect, is currently present at the scene.

An individual sought by authorities is no longer alive following a shooting involving law enforcement in Elizabethtown, as reported by the Lancaster County District Attorney’s office.

The event initiated at approximately 2:51 p.m. on the 1500 block of S. Market Street when members of the US Marshal’s Eastern District Violent Crimes Task Force endeavored to execute an arrest warrant.

The District Attorney’s office reports that officers discharged their weapons at the suspect, who was subsequently pronounced dead.

A firearm was discovered in close proximity to the suspect, whose identity has not been publicly disclosed by the police. Further details are anticipated to be released on Thursday night.
