Update: The Orange County Sheriff’s Office has reported another fatality following a Christmas Eve shooting in the Lockhart neighborhood. Authorities now confirm that a second victim, identified as 31-year-old Malcolm Stover Jr., has also passed away due to their gunshot injuries.

Orange County deputies have identified the woman who lost her life in a Christmas Eve shooting in Lockhart.

Responding to reports of a shooting shortly before 2:30 a.m. on Sunday, deputies arrived at the 2800 block of Sudman Way to discover four men and one woman suffering from gunshot wounds.

The sheriff’s office reported that the female victim, 25-year-old Stephanie Diane Cortes, succumbed to her injuries at the shooting scene.

The other four victims, described only as men in their 20s and 30s, were transported to the hospital with conditions ranging from stable to critical.

Investigators indicated uncertainty regarding whether any of the individuals shot might also be considered suspects.

However, they assert that the incident appears to be targeted.
