17-year-old Jaden Alexander Lowe killed after shooting in Forestdale

18-year-old Jaymon Battle is charged with murder in the teen’s death. A motive has not been released but investigators said the two knew each other.

Following an afternoon shooting in Forestdale, one teenager has lost their life, and another is now in police custody.

Sheriff’s deputies responded to reports of shots fired at a residence in the 700 block of Mohave Drive shortly after 2 p.m. on Saturday.

Upon arrival, they discovered a 17-year-old male who had sustained gunshot wounds. Despite attempts at life-saving measures, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The deceased teenager has been identified as Jaden Alexander Lowe by the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office.

Murder charges have been filed against 18-year-old Jaymon Battle in connection with the death of the teenager.

While a motive has not been disclosed, investigators have indicated that the two individuals were acquainted.

Battle was officially booked into the Jefferson County Jail at 6:38 p.m. on Saturday and is currently being held without bond under Aniah’s Law.
