21-year-old Usman Pirzada killed in Schenectady shooting
This incident is now being investigated as a homicide.
The victim has now been identified as 21 year old Usman Pirzada from Schenectady NY. He was pronounced deceased early this morning at Albany Medical Center.

On December 19th, 2023 at approximately 8:49 P.M., members of the Schenectady Police Department responded to the area of Lincoln Avenue near Steuben Street for a report of a person shot.
Upon arrival they located a victim that appeared to be suffering from a gunshot wound. Several shell casings were also located.
The victim was transported to Albany Medical Center for his injuries. The extent of the injuries to the victim is unknown.
Members of the Schenectady Police Department’s Detective Division and Evidence Technician Unit are actively investigating this incident.
