Two people are dead and two are injured after a drive-by shooting and a shooting at a hospital occurred overnight in Jackson.

Tragedy unfolded overnight in Jackson, resulting in two fatalities and two injuries from a drive-by shooting and an incident at a hospital.

Jackson Police reported that 25-year-old Elisha Bridges lost his life “early Sunday morning” following a verbal altercation in the parking lot of Merit Health in the city.

The suspected shooter, Jaylein Wallace, fled the scene and remains at large. The Jackson Police Department has determined that the incident originated from a domestic situation.

JPD also attended to a drive-by shooting incident, with Jackson Police reporting that it occurred just after midnight.

Tragically, DeAsia Bracey was shot and killed while riding in a vehicle that sustained multiple gunshots at the location.

Two other occupants in the car were also injured and subsequently transported to a local hospital; their current conditions remain unknown.

Jackson Police revealed that the suspects were operating a red Hyundai Sonata, which crashed at the intersection of Ellis Avenue and St. Charles Street shortly after the shooting.

The suspects then fled the scene on foot. Investigators are actively collecting evidence and information related to this incident.
