Important Update from Diné College: The lockdown protocol is still in effect as of 1:56 pm. We will inform you once the lockdown is lifted and the active shooter threat is no longer present. Kindly continue to stay in your offices until further notice.

As per a source in Shiprock, an urgent message from Diné College indicates that the Shiprock DC North campus was placed on lockdown at 12:30 pm due to an active shooter reported at SASI schools on December 14.

The latest update, received at 1:16 pm on the same day, indicates that the lockdown is still in effect at the North campus.

A source provided us with a photo of the campus that they captured a short while ago. In the image, a Navajo Police Department unit can be observed parked.

The college advises everyone to stay in their offices, awaiting further notifications from the neighboring SASI for updates on the active shooter threat.

Police ask public to please stay out of the area.

This is a developing story that will be updated when more information is available.
