49-year-old Jennifer Conley shot and killed by ex-husband Dennis Conley outside WVU Urgent Care in Spring Mills

Conley had been making threats towards his ex-wife in the months preceding the shooting.

On the morning of December 11th at 8:41 am, deputies from the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office were called to respond to a reported shooting at WVU Urgent Care in Spring Mills.

Upon arrival, deputies discovered an unresponsive female shooting victim in the parking lot, identified as forty-nine-year-old Jennifer Conley from Hedgesville.

Unfortunately, she was pronounced dead at the scene. Deputies gathered information about the suspect and his vehicle, sharing it with local law enforcement.

Shortly thereafter, Martinsburg City Police officers halted the suspect, and sheriff’s deputies, arriving at the scene, took him into custody.

During the traffic stop, a firearm was recovered. The suspect was identified as the victim’s ex-husband, fifty-three-year-old Dennis Conley, who resided in Hedgesville.

Throughout their inquiry, criminal investigators discovered that Dennis Conley had been issuing threats against his ex-wife in the months leading up to the shooting.

Subsequently, he was charged with murder and held in the Eastern Regional Jail awaiting arraignment.

Following arraignment by Magistrate Thompson, he was remanded to the regional jail without bond.
