Hoax shooting call at South High School in Omaha

One person reportedly shot inside South High Monday afternoon.

At 2:56 p.m., Omaha Police have confirmed that there is no threat at South High School. The status of whether someone is actually injured inside the school remains uncertain.

Channel3 observed a rescue squad departing the scene without transporting anyone. At 2:50 p.m., police searches of the building revealed no injured students.

Parents were instructed to proceed to the Omaha South High football field for the reunification process with their students.

2:40pm: Several streets around South High School are currently closed. Omaha Police were dispatched early Monday afternoon in response to a report of a shooting inside Omaha South High School located at South 24th and “K.”

Preliminary reports suggested that an individual was injured in a first-floor bathroom.

There are no additional reports of injuries.

As of 2:15 p.m. on Monday, the school was under lockdown, with police conducting a thorough sweep of the building, checking each room individually.
