On Sunday evening, Naples police conducted a search for a suspect who shot a victim in the leg at Coastland Mall around 5 p.m.

Naples Police Chief Ciro Dominguez assured that the area was secure.

He mentioned that the shooter had fled before the police arrived, and the injured victim was airlifted to a hospital in Lee County for treatment.

Although the mall underwent a brief lockdown, it was lifted by 5:30 p.m.

Approximately six Naples police cruisers were assembled, and crime scene tape delineated the mall entrance facing Golden Gate Parkway, across from Naples High School.

According to Sgt. Erik Noe, the incident took place between two individuals who were already known to each other.

He affirmed, “There was no danger to anyone inside the mall.”
