Teen boy killed in a shooting in Kansas City, Missouri

A teenage boy lost his life in a shooting in Kansas City, Missouri, on Saturday afternoon, as confirmed by a spokesperson from the Kansas City, Missouri, Police Department.

Officers from KCPD were called just after 3 p.m. to the 3200 block of Park Avenue in response to a reported shooting.

Upon arrival, officers were guided to a nearby residence. Upon entering the home, they were directed to a room where they discovered an unresponsive teen boy with apparent gunshot trauma.

Emergency Medical Services promptly arrived and initiated life-saving procedures. However, shortly afterward, the teen boy was pronounced dead, according to KCPD.

Currently, no person of interest is in custody, and KCPD asserts that there is no existing threat to the public.

Homicide detectives and crime scene personnel are actively collecting evidence and obtaining statements from witnesses.
