17-year-old Mondrell Gordon killed in shooting outside Piggly Wiggly near Woodruff Farm Road
The extent of the victim’s injuries has not been disclosed.
The Columbus Police Department has verified the identity of the individual who was shot in the 2400 block of Woodruff Farm Road on Saturday evening.
Mondrell Gordon, 17, succumbed to injuries sustained in the torso.
Police were alerted to the shooting at approximately 5:40 p.m., and despite being transported to Piedmont Columbus Regional, Gordon passed away from his injuries.
An emergency room doctor pronounced him deceased at 6:20 p.m.
The investigation into this case is being spearheaded by CPD’s Violent Crimes Unit.
