In the Humboldt Park neighborhood, two food delivery drivers were shot, resulting in one fatality, early Saturday, as reported by 26th Ward Ald. Jessie Fuentes, who described the incident as distressing.

According to Chicago police, the victims were seated in a car in the 1400 block of North Avers Avenue when a blue car approached around 3 a.m., and an occupant inside discharged shots.

Tramon Thomas, 31, succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at Stroger Hospital, as confirmed by the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

The second man, aged 32, sustained injuries to the leg and torso, currently in critical condition, as reported by the police.

Ald. Jessie Fuentes expressed her dismay, stating, “It’s disheartening to report on such events, and our thoughts are with the victims and their families during this difficult time,” in a released statement.

At present, no one is in custody, according to the police.
