25-year-old Tracy Davis shot and killed by his 15-year-old brother at Johnston County home

The teenager, whose identity is protected due to his age, has been taken into secure custody and charged through a juvenile petition.

The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office reported that a 15-year-old in Johnston County is alleged to have shot and killed his 25-year-old brother.

Deputies were called to a residence on South Pleasant Coates Road near Benson at approximately 6:15 p.m. on Sunday.

Tracy Marshawn Davis, 25, a resident of the home, was shot and subsequently transported to WakeMed, where he succumbed to his injuries.

According to Davis’ father, the shooter was his 15-year-old brother, who also resided in the home.

The teenager, whose identity is protected due to his age, has been taken into secure custody and charged through a juvenile petition.

Investigative efforts at the residence extended for over four hours, involving activities such as photography, flashlight-assisted searches of the home, and the collection of evidence from vehicles parked in the driveway.
