20-year-old shot and killed at Mason’s Mill Estates in Lithonia

According to the DeKalb County Police Department, a 20-year-old man was fatally shot in Mason’s Mill Estate. His body was discovered near the clubhouse on Bear Mountain Street.

A witness reported hearing multiple gunshots and observed three individuals fleeing on foot afterward.

She estimated that there were over ten shots fired and characterized the incident as a shootout.

The incident occurred around 2:18 pm. DKPD homicide investigators were present at the scene for several hours.

Residents mentioned that K9 teams conducted a search, but no arrests were made.

The victim was a resident of the neighborhood and was frequently seen walking his dog in the area.
