A tragic incident in the West End on Friday night has claimed the life of an 11-year-old boy, with five additional individuals sustaining injuries in the shooting, as reported by Cincinnati police.

The scheduled press conference by Cincinnati Police, initially set for Saturday at 2 p.m., has been rescheduled.

Cincinnati Police Chief Terri Theetge has announced that, in order to provide the community with comprehensive information, the press conference initially scheduled for this afternoon will now take place on Sunday, November 5, 2023, at 2:00 PM at our CIS Headquarters, situated at 801 Linn Street.

Chief Theetge explained that the CPD requires additional time to gather crucial details regarding this tragic event. As per Chief Terri Theetge of the Cincinnati Police, the incident occurred around 9:30 p.m. in the vicinity of Jones Street and Wade Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered multiple victims with gunshot wounds.

During the incident, one victim tragically lost their life and was declared deceased at the scene. The individual has been identified as 11-year-old Dominic Davis.

According to Chief Theetge, several juveniles sustained gunshot injuries. As of now, their ages and identities remain undisclosed.

As per the police report, three of the victims were transported to Cincinnati Children’s hospital. Among them, one sustained life-threatening injuries.

An update from Children’s Hospital on Saturday morning stated that two patients are still under observation, and their condition remains stable. One patient was discharged overnight.

Additionally, two other victims were taken to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, both of whom have been treated and subsequently released.

Chief Theetge expressed her dismay, emphasizing that it is utterly unacceptable for six people to be shot in a single incident on a Friday night in our city.

Chief Theetge stated that currently, there is no suspect information available for release, and there are no indications regarding the circumstances leading up to the shooting.

She did, however, emphasize that there is no evidence of an ongoing threat to the community. Cincinnati Mayor Aftab Pureval took to social media on Friday night to express his sentiments, stating, “there was a horrific tragedy in the West End. Children were shot.

At least one life was lost. Our friends and neighbors are feeling unimaginable fear, trauma, and anger.”
