A shooting at the South Belt Highway Walmart has left one person critically injured. The incident occurred just before 7 p.m.

According to authorities, the shooting transpired inside the south vestibule following an altercation between two individuals, resulting in one person being shot.

The shooter fled the scene, but a 19-year-old male is now in custody in connection with the incident.

Buchanan County EMS conveyed one person to Mosaic Life Care with critical injuries.

Police have assured that the situation is under control, and there is no ongoing threat at the South Belt Walmart.
