Video shows moments 21-year-old Tyree Parker shot and killed near Donaldsonville High School football game, suspect Malik Fowler arrested

According to Sheriff Bobby Webre, detectives with the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office have arrested Malik Fowler, 21, of Gonzales in relation to a fatal shooting that occurred on October 27, in Donaldsonville.

He is charged with second degree murder, attempted second degree murder, illegal use of weapons, simple criminal damage to property, and disturbing the peace.

The deceased has been identified as Tyree Parker, 21, of Donaldsonville.

A second victim remains hospitalized with life-threatening injuries.

On Friday, October 27, at approximately 8:30p.m., deputies swiftly responded to gunshots heard at the corner of Clay Street and Lee Street in Donaldsonville.

Upon arrival, deputies found two male victims suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Deputies immediately rendered lifesaving measures, while awaiting emergency medical services.

Deputies also observed a male subject, believed to be the shooter, attempting to flee the scene. He was quickly apprehended and taken into custody for questioning.

Both victims were transported to area hospitals where Tyree Parker succumbed to his injuries.

During their investigation, detectives identified the suspect in custody as Malik Fowler. Detectives received information that corroborated him as the shooter.

Detectives also learned that Fowler was acquainted with the victims and had engaged in an argument before firing the fatal shots.

An arrest warrant was executed, and Fowler was booked into the Ascension Parish Jail.
