23-year-old Gabriel Aguirre shot and killed inside Bombshells restaurant, suspect Pedro Zavala surrendered to deputies

Last night, Harris County Sheriff’s Office Investigators responded to a shooting at Bombshells restaurant/bar at 13732 East Fwy near Uvalde.

The victim, identified as Gabriel Aguirre, had been shot several times inside the establishment and pronounced deceased. The suspect fled the scene.

Early this morning, the alleged suspect, Pedro Zavala (24) contacted the HCSO and surrendered to deputies.

Zavala was taken into custody and charged with Aguirre’s murder. He was placed in the Harris County jail.

At Zavala’s court appearance on Tuesday, the judge established his bond at $600,000, allocating $500,000 for the murder charge and $100,000 for the weapon charge.

It was disclosed that Zavala had previously been released on bond for charges related to verbal harassment and resisting arrest. Additionally, he was under probation for a robbery with a deadly weapon conviction.

At approximately 11:45 p.m., an incident unfolded inside the restaurant located just west of Freeport Street. According to deputies, two 23-year-old men engaged in a verbal dispute.

Subsequently, one of them brandished a firearm and, as reported by witnesses, discharged it, striking the victim at least twice, before fleeing the scene.
