Amarillo police have announced the arrest of a man in connection with a weekend incident resulting in a fatality.
At approximately 6:00 a.m. on Sunday, law enforcement received a 911 call concerning a man who had sustained gunshot wounds in the vicinity of Southwest 44th Avenue and Parker Street.
Upon arrival, officers discovered 27-year-old Orlando Garces Junior deceased inside a residence. Subsequently, 25-year-old Daniel Mireles Junior was apprehended at the scene.
He has been formally booked into the Randall County Jail on a charge of murder. The Amarillo Police Department’s Homicide Unit is currently conducting an investigation into this incident.
