64-year-old Thomas James Hairrell found killed at a duplex

The Sheffield Police Department has identified the deceased individual discovered at a duplex on Tuesday.
Responding to a call at approximately 4:55 a.m. in the 800 block of West Montgomery concerning an unconscious person, officers observed a white male with gunshot injuries near the front door upon arrival.
The victim has been identified as 64-year-old Thomas James Hairrell from Sheffield, according to the police.
Authorities are presently in the process of interviewing neighbors and witnesses.
Hairrell’s remains are being conveyed to the Alabama Department of Forensic Science for a thorough examination.
