Tragedy struck a Manhattan park during Thursday night’s July 4th celebrations. A suspected drunk driver crashed into the park, killing at least three people and injuring six others.

Authorities identified two victims as Lucille Pinkney, 59, and Hernan Pinkney, 38, who lived in the neighborhood.

The name of the third victim remains unreleased.

Chaos erupted in Manhattan’s Lower East Side just before 9 pm on Thursday during Fourth of July festivities. An NYPD news conference later revealed a horrifying scene.

The driver of a Ford F-150 pickup truck, speeding down Water Street, disregarded a stop sign at the intersection with Cherry Street.

He then mounted the curb and plowed into Corlears Hook Park.

Nine people were struck, with four pinned under the vehicle.

The tragedy unfolded further as two victims were pronounced dead at the scene, and a third succumbed to injuries overnight. At least one person remains in critical condition.

While NYPD Chief Maddrey withheld victim ages pending identification, he confirmed at least two children were injured and hospitalized.

Authorities suspect alcohol as a contributing factor, but assure the public this wasn’t a terrorist act.

Remarkably, bystanders emerged as heroes. The New York City Fire Department reports their crews arrived within three and a half minutes and managed to lift the vehicle off trapped victims.

Chief Maddrey commended “good Samaritans” who apprehended the driver, ensuring they awaited first responders. Charges are pending further investigation.
