Suspect in shooting outside Mad Butcher grocery store in Fordyce identified as 44-year-old Travis Posey

44-year-old Travis Posey is being held at the Ouachita County Sheriff’s Office on charges of first-degree murder in connection with the mass shooting at The Mad Butcher grocery store in Fordyce.

A tragedy unfolded outside the Mad Butcher grocery store in Fordyce, Dallas County, as a shooting erupted around 11:38 am.

According to authorities, 11 civilians were shot, with 3 succumbing to their injuries.

Two law enforcement officers were also wounded, but thankfully, none of the injuries were reported as critical.

The gunfire exchange also resulted in the shooter being injured and taken into custody.

23-year-old Callie Weems was identified by her mother, Helen, to Channel3 NOW.

Callie was one of the victims who passed away today after being shot while grocery shopping on her day off from work.

She was a nurse at the Dallas County Medical Center and leaves behind a 10-month-old daughter.
