Numerous police agencies responded to a large disturbance at Typhoon Texas on Friday night, prompting the Katy Police to shut down the park to regain control.

According to a statement from Typhoon Texas, “At approximately 9 p.m. on June 21, a disturbance was caused by unruly guests violating our code of conduct.

The Katy Police Department escorted them off the premises. The situation is under control, and the park is safe.”

Numerous unconfirmed internet reports from guests at the park described it as a large fight.

When asked by Covering Katy about reports of gunshots, Typhoon Texas spokesman Bernard Kaplan stated, “According to what we know, there were no firearms inside or outside the waterpark. Katy Police ordered the park closed to secure the premises.”

Kaplan was unable to provide further details about the disturbance or any arrests.

This is a developing story that will be updated when more information is available.
