Princeton Days Inn shooting suspect Christopher Antoine Wilborn facing multiple felony charges

Suspect is being held on a $1 million cash bond at Southern Regional Jail.

Update: The Mercer County Sheriff’s Department has charged one suspect in connection with a shooting that occurred Friday evening at the Days Inn Conference Center on Meadowfield Lane in Princeton.

According to Captain Jesse J. Ruble, suspect Christopher Antoine Wilborn is facing multiple felony charges and is being held on a $1 million cash bond at Southern Regional Jail.

The incident involved two individuals attending a family reunion who exchanged gunfire. Four people were treated for non-life-threatening gunshot wounds.

Authorities report that the other alleged gunman was also injured during the exchange and received treatment at a trauma center. Lieutenant S.A. Sommers of the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office is leading the ongoing investigation.

A shooting erupted at a family gathering held at the Days Inn conference center on Route 460 in Princeton, West Virginia. Four people were injured, including a child and one of the two gunmen involved in the exchange of gunfire.

According to Lieutenant Steven Sommers of the Mercer County Sheriff’s Department, a fight broke out during the event, leading to the shooting. All those involved are reportedly members of the same family.

One of the shooters is currently hospitalized, while the other remains at large. Authorities have located a vehicle believed to be connected to the incident but are withholding its location for investigative purposes.

West Virginia State Police, along with Princeton and Bluefield rescue squads, responded to the scene shortly after the initial call received at 7:56 pm by Lieutenant Brian Murphy of the Mercer County Sheriff’s Department.
