Tragedy struck Potomac High School on Saturday during a sporting event.
Police responded to reports of a shooting at a football game and found a man and child injured by gunfire.
The man unfortunately died from his wounds.
Police transported the man to a nearby hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries.
The child, fortunately, sustained non-life-threatening wounds and was also hospitalized.
A man, identifying himself as the coach of a 7U football team playing at Potomac High School this morning, told Channel3 NOW that they were in the middle of a play when he heard gunshots. He reported that a man and a child were shot.
