Victim killed in shooting at Compton pool party identified as Robert Abdelkader III

A tragedy struck Compton Friday night as a shooting erupted at a backyard party. One person, a man, was found dead at the scene.

Four others, two men and three women, were injured and taken to the hospital.

The victim killed has been identified as Robert Abdelkader III.

Their conditions are unknown.

The shooting happened around 7:50 p.m. near the intersection of Mayo Avenue and Greenleaf Boulevard.

Investigators are still piecing together what led to the shooting, but witnesses reported to Channel3 NOW that it erupted during a birthday pool party at a nearby home.

Chaos ensued as people fled the scene in their swimwear, abandoning belongings at the party.

It’s important to note that while Compton College is nearby, the shooting did not involve the campus in any way.

The college held its graduation ceremony elsewhere in Carson on Friday night.

Additionally, there are no details available yet regarding a suspect or suspects.
