Susquehanna Township High School senior Tyron Perrin’s life was cut tragically short just days before graduation.

Dauphin County District Attorney Fran Chado confirmed that 13-year-old Zahkee Talib-Davis from Harrisburg City has been charged with murder in connection with the fatal shooting that occurred Tuesday night at Whisperwood Apartments.

Details surrounding the tragic shooting at Whisperwood Apartments are emerging.

Susquehanna Township Police Chief Robert Martin confirmed his department responded to the scene on 36th Street around 7 p.p.m. on Tuesday.

According to court documents, a single gunshot was heard by neighbors, and the victim, Tyron Perrin, was found deceased in the basement laundry room with a gunshot wound consistent with a 9mm handgun.

Witnesses reported seeing 13-year-old Zahkee Talib-Davis leaving the apartment complex after the incident.

In a statement released Wednesday morning, the Susquehanna Township School District expressed their profound grief over the loss of Tyron Perrin.

“Tyron was a cherished member of our school family,” the district said. “Counselors will be available at the school to provide support to staff and students during this incredibly difficult time. Our thoughts and heartfelt condolences go out to Tyron’s family and friends as they cope with this unimaginable tragedy.”

An autopsy is scheduled for Friday, coinciding with Perrin’s planned graduation day.

Davis-Talib was arraigned on Wednesday morning and faces additional charges for carrying firearms without a license. He is being held without bail at the Dauphin County Prison.
