2 injured in officer-involved shooting at Kroger in Colerain Township

Update: Two suspects were shot and transported to the hospital following a shooting at a Kroger in Colerain Township, according to Colerain Township Police Public Information Officer Jim Love.

Initially, Love reported that one person was shot during an officer-involved incident at the store. It remains unclear whether the individual shot by the officer is among the two people taken to the hospital.

Law enforcement responded to the reported shooting a few minutes before 4 p.m. on Wednesday, as explained by Love during an update outside the Kroger.

He mentioned that officers pursued one person inside the Springdale Road store, and the chase continued outside.

Officers successfully apprehended this individual. However, it is unknown if the person in custody is the one shot by the officer. No officers were injured.

Love assured that the situation is now safe and urged people to avoid the area as the investigation continues.

At least one person was injured in a shooting involving an officer at the Kroger in Colerain Township on Wednesday afternoon.

Colerain Township spokesperson Jim Love stated that crews responded to reports of shots fired at the Kroger Marketplace located at 3636 Springdale Road.

According to Love, officers pursued and apprehended a suspect, though it was unclear if the suspect was the injured individual.

One officer was involved in the shooting but was not injured. Love also mentioned that there could be additional injuries.

Kroger employee Micah Lewis recounted witnessing a man brandishing a gun, prompting her to flee the scene.

According to walkie-talkie reports, a “man (was) down.” Lewis immediately evacuated the building to contact her family.

Nearby businesses, upon hearing the gunshots, went into lockdown mode.
