The Columbus Division of Police has named three men who were fatally shot early Saturday morning on the city’s north side.

Three other individuals were injured in the shooting.

Officers were dispatched to East 5th Avenue and Summit Street, situated between the Italian Village and Weinland Park neighborhoods, at approximately 2:45 a.m. in response to reports of gunfire.

Upon arrival, they discovered several people with gunshot wounds in what Columbus Police Deputy Chief Gregory Bodker described as a “very chaotic scene.”

Two victims were declared dead at the scene, while a third succumbed to his injuries at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center shortly before 3:30 a.m.

The police identified the deceased as 27-year-old Malachi Pee, 18-year-old Da’ondre Bullock, and 26-year-old Garcia Dixon Jr.

The other shooting victims were transported to nearby hospitals. Police reported that two of them are in “stable” condition, while another is in critical condition.

However, all are expected to survive their injuries.

The events leading up to the shooting are still unclear, and no suspect information has been released. In an update on Saturday morning, Deputy Chief Bodker stated that witnesses have been cooperating with authorities.

The incident is still under investigation.

Deputy Chief Bodker mentioned that the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office is aiding the investigation by deploying a drone.
