Update: A suspect has been arrested in connection with last month’s deadly mass shooting at a Buckhead nightclub.

Karanji Reese, 21, turned himself in to Atlanta police on Wednesday. He is charged with murder, aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, according to police reports.

Original Report:

On Monday morning, the Fulton County Medical Examiner disclosed the identities of the two individuals who lost their lives in a club shooting over the weekend, which also resulted in injuries to four others.

The incident occurred in the early hours at Elleven45 Lounge in Buckhead on Sunday morning.

As per the medical examiner, the victims are Mari Creighton, aged 21, and Nakyris M. Ridley, aged 20. Both individuals were identified as Black women.

No identities have been disclosed for any of the wounded victims, although initially, law enforcement indicated that they believed the six victims comprised three men and three women in total.

The lounge is situated at the intersection of Peachtree Road and Bennett Street in Buckhead.

Authorities stated they suspected that the shooting originated from a dispute and subsequent “physical altercation” inside the club that escalated.

There was no immediate identification of a suspect in the shooting as police scrutinized footage from inside the club.

“We at Elleven 45 are deeply shaken by the recent tragic occurrences. Our heartfelt condolences go out to all those affected, and we offer our sincerest sympathies to the individuals and families who have endured loss and injury. The safety and welfare of our patrons and staff have always been our top priority. In order to facilitate a comprehensive investigation in collaboration with local law enforcement, we will be temporarily closing our doors today,” stated the club on Sunday.
