On Friday night, a helicopter with six passengers on board crashed in eastern San Bernardino County.

The FAA verified that the Eurocopter EC130 went down approximately at 10 p.m. to the east of the 15 Freeway and Halloran Springs Road near Nipton community, close to the California-Nevada border.

Initial reports suggest that the helicopter might have departed from Palm Springs and was last sighted near Barstow.

The destination it was heading towards remains unclear.

The fate of the six individuals aboard the helicopter is currently unknown.

Both the FAA and the NTSB are conducting investigations into the incident.

This is a developing story that will be updated when more information is available.
