Teen identified as Jaden killed in Provincetown Avenue shooting

A shooting at a residence in southwest Bakersfield on Friday morning has resulted in one fatality.

The incident was reported in the 6000 block of Provincetown Avenue, located just north of Taft Highway, before 6:30 a.m.

Police indicated that a person with significant injuries was discovered at the scene.

The victim, a boy appearing to be in his teens, was pronounced dead at the scene, as announced by the police on Friday afternoon.

Officials from the Bakersfield Police Department informed Channel3 NOW that no schools in the vicinity were placed on lockdown.

There is currently no available information regarding potential suspects.
