Pregnant South Carolina woman Marlene “Grace” Ables killed in accidental shooting in Laurens, deputies arrest gunman Camrin Smith

The victim of an accidental shooting has been identified as a young pregnant woman from South Carolina.

Laurens County Deputy Coroner Bill Williams confirmed the victim’s identity as Marlene “Grace” Ables, 24, of Laurens.

According to her sister, Ables was six to seven months pregnant.

Camrin Smith has been charged with involuntary manslaughter in connection with the shooting death by the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies were called to the 4000 block of Highway 14 in Laurens at approximately 8:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Upon their arrival, they discovered Ables deceased from an apparent gunshot wound.

According to deputies, Smith admitted to accidentally firing a gun at Ables.

Smith was apprehended at the scene, and an autopsy, scheduled for Tuesday, will provide further insights, as mentioned by Williams.
