Deputies are currently conducting an investigation following a tragic incident in Hagerstown on Thursday night.

Circuit Court Judge Andrew Wilkinson, located in the 19000 block of Olde Waterford Road, was fatally shot at his residence.

He was discovered in the driveway with gunshot wounds and subsequently transported to Meritus Medical Center for treatment.

Regrettably, Judge Wilkinson succumbed to his injuries.

Limited information is available about the fatal shooting at this juncture. Authorities are treating the incident as a homicide.

As of Friday morning, sheriff’s deputies are actively seeking Pedro Argote in connection with the shooting.

It’s believed he may be operating a silver Mercedes bearing license plate 4EH0408.

State delegate Neil Parrott (R-MD) utilized X (formerly known as Twitter) to announce that law enforcement is actively in pursuit of the perpetrator.

Judge Wilkinson has served on the 4th Judicial Circuit since January 10, 2020. Born in Agana, Guam in 1971, he later pursued his education at the University of North Carolina and obtained his J.D. from the Emory University School of Law in 1997.
