Florence Police investigating shooting incident on Evans St

Florence police have apprehended one individual following a fatal shooting on Wednesday afternoon.

The incident occurred in the 700 block of W. Evans St. The identities of the suspect and the victim have not yet been disclosed.

“When we arrived, we were informed that the person involved in the shooting was still on the scene,” a police spokesperson said in an emailed news release. “The individual was taken into custody without further incident, and we are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting.”

The coroner’s office is assisting with the investigation. No further information is available at this time.
