Child accidentally shoots himself outside Walmart in Douglas

Officers from the Douglas Police Department are investigating an accidental self-inflicted shooting that occurred in a vehicle parked near the fireworks stand in the Walmart Supercenter parking lot.

The incident took place just over half an hour ago.

The victim, a small child, has been transported to Coffee Regional Medical Center.

The child was alive when the ambulance departed, but there have been no updates on their condition.
